Our process is simple and you get to be part of it. At Hansewn, we create handmade products that are as unique as the person who will use them.
We want you to do more than just buy a product: we want you to acquire a handmade piece that is meaningful to you and those you care about. To do this, we make you part of the process. Whether it's a bedding set for your own nursery, a quilt for a loved one or a set of corporate gifts for your employees or closest clients, we'll help you design the best handmade product that makes you say, "that's perfect."
1) We meet with you to understand the type of product you want. We discuss design elements, color schemes and budget from the beginning.
2) We source fabrics and other product materials that are of the highest-quality. Some of our clients like to shop with us in person. This is so very fun! The client truly becomes part of the product and hand-selects exactly what they want to see as their final handmade piece(s). We utilize local fabric stores in Manhattan, Lawrence and Kansas City. Some of our clients shop from afar using Spoonflower.com or our Etsy Shop. We even have a few clients that say "surprise me!" and we pick their fabrics, with a solid understanding of their design scheme.
3) We assemble the products. Depending on the size and quantity of the project, we usually ask that clients allow 4-8 weeks delivery for product delivery. This ensures we can source the high-quality materials and take our time creating the product.
4) We hand it over. When the product is complete, we deliver, ship or arrange pick up of the product. This is the most fun part! (Besides picking out the fabric.) Hearing our client stories of how they will use the product, or who will receive the handmade piece as a gift, is a constant reminder of why we love this gig.
Each and every project comes to life through detailed sketches and materials lists so that every detail is planned and accounted for. This sketch is for the Lane Quilt, a custom nursery quilt.
